Newell Brands Color Change Technician in Winfield, Kansas

Job Title: Color Change Technician

Reports to: Technical Supervisor

Work Schedule: Rotating 12 hour shifts – three days on and two days off (day/night)

General Responsibility:

The Color Change Technician will clean materials blenders and grinders in preparation for and during color changes on injection molding machine and blow mold machines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Properly and timely cleaning of blenders and grinders.

  • Clean work area of any spills or leaks.

  • Inspect and document condition of grinder blades during grinder cleaning.

  • Correctly set blender for next job.

  • Shutdown and restart injection machines for color changes.

  • Assist other technicians when possible.

  • Proficient in all safety and housekeeping requirements.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of six months stable and verifiable work history required.

  • Demonstrated mechanical capability preferred.

  • Must possess basic math skills to accurately determine color/material needs of each machine.

  • Must be able to multi-task.

  • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and able to work independently.

  • Must be able to become certified on operating a forklift and complete PIT training successfully.

  • Must be able to complete all technical training requirements, lockout tagout, etc.

  • Must be a good listener, having the ability to receive instructions over two-way radios, and other communication devices.
