The Role

The Worldwide Telco Practice within WWPS is one of the leading innovation groups at Vmware working closely both internally with BU and with customer alongside our account team to promote, build, manage the most advanced Telco platform such as NFV and containerized network function platform.

As a Telco Consulting Architect, you will acquire an intimate understanding of our customers’ business, their strategic goals and the specific requirements of Network Function Virtualization and Software Defined Network projects. You will demonstrate the technical abilities of the consulting team and will propose, drive and lead a solution that assists the customer in achieving their business goals and outcomes.

You are a solution expert with broad knowledge across the VMware NFV/K8S technology stack and of 3rd party integrated products.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement with account leaders and BU leader and represent professional services in pre-sales, sales processes to help drive understanding of customer’s business and technical objectives inside VMware.

  • Work closely with matrix organization including delivery, BU, account team to govern successful project delivery

  • Develop team strategy to grow Telco service business

  • Set clear targets and manage day to day activity of the Telco practice team:

Pre-sales support, POC, RFx response, scoping and LOE estimation Architecture ownership in delivery Enablement of wider team

  • Motivation and development of team members to achieve organization goals

  • Conduct regular business reviews with respective stakeholders

  • Drive business initiatives to achieve business goals, e.g. delivery standardization & automation etc.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Deep understanding of the telecommunication market and trend in terms of NFV/SDN/Container context, standards, technology and use cases

  • Experience in coaching

  • Experience in customer-facing positions as a professional services leader

  • Five years recent experience in team and virtual team management

  • Background in Hands on experience of Telco Cloud Platform delivery and pre-sales

  • Understanding of cloud native application concepts

  • Bachelors or Masters degree or equivalent technical training

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in Agile Project Methods

  • Knowledge of Vmware Telco Cloud Infrastructure

  • Fluent in English, knowledge of an additional foreign language will be considered a plus
