Compensation:\$16.16/hr.

Pay starts at \$16.16/hr., then staff enter the Kansas Registered Apprentice Program at the beginning of the year after hire, where pay increase to \$17.39/hr. at the end of the first year, and goes to \$19.16/hr. at the end of the second year. The Kansas Registered Apprentice Program is a structured training program where staff gain specific skills and competencies enabling them to fill multiple roles within the workforce system.

Position Summary:

This is technical work interviewing clients to obtain information needed to determine potential eligibility for training programs, job referrals and other program services. The position is located at the Wichita Workforce Center in Wichita, KS. There is occasional local travel involved and may be overnight.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist job seekers in their search for employment by providing an orientation of the Workforce Center services, resume assistance,KANSASWORKS registration and job search assistance
• Determine potential eligibility for and refer to partner programs
• Refer job candidates to employment opportunities and support services as appropriate
• Work with businesses requiring employment assistance in Great Bendand its surrounding areas
• Provides early intervention services for Unemployment Insurance claimants identified as likely to exhaust benefits
• Provide case management for a variety of re-employment programs

Education:

• High School or GED

Licensing & Certification:

• Valid Driver License

Minimum Qualifications:

• One year of experience interacting with clients, customers, or the public in a social service or problem resolution setting
• Twelve (12) credit hours of course work at the post-secondary level in social services, human services or a related field may be substituted for one year of experience

• Valid Driver License and ability to travel to communities throughout the local area or other assigned locales

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of experience working with job seekers in a recruitment or job coaching environment, staffing company or state workforce
