This position is responsible for maintaining accounting systems which includes reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling financial data to ensure accurate reporting. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts and developing reports to share with management and external entities. Participating in both departmental and cross-divisional teams will be required along with the assignment of special financial projects.Candidate will be hired as either a Staff Accountant or Financial Analyst.

+ Monitors and recommends changes in policies/programs to management.
+ Research and analyze financial data.
+ Ability to perform research to ensure the company is compliant with accounting and regulatory rules.
+ Work with Information Services personnel to resolve discrepancies and implement system enhancements.
+ Responsible for the programming of financial reports and specialized reports for other departments.
+ Serves as financial expert for other corporate teams.
+ Research, develop, and recommend future financial system enhancements.
+ Ability to analyze complex problems and develop solutions without leadership direction.
+ Participate with the department’s self-managed team environment.
+ Maintain current policies and job procedures for specific job assignments.
+ Complete journal entries for accurate financial reporting.
+ Stay abreast of current functionality of the financial systems (Workday & Checkfree)
+ Coordinate with Advantasure to ensure an accurate accounting for the Medicare Advantage line of business.
+ Responsible for accurate and timely completion of account reconciliations.
Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting is required.
Staff Accountant positions require 0-1 years of experience.
Financial Analyst positions require 1-3 years of experience and can demonstrate an advanced level of accounting skills.
+ High degree of human relation skills.
+ Ability to communicate with all organizational levels and external contacts.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Knowledge of Microsoft Access is preferred.
+ Ability to analyze financial statements.
+ Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Statements.
+ Ability to analyze and recommend process changes to management.

+ Experience working in the health insurance industry preferred.
