As a Splash Pad Operator, you\'ll play a vital role in managing the City of Wichita\'s 12 splash pad sites, keeping them running smoothly and safely. \ Examples of Work Performed
- Safely operate a motor vehicle to travel from site to site
- Monitor and correct chemical balances at the Citys splash pad locations
- Help distribute chemicals from a central point to pools and splash pads throughout the city
- Help with changing of chemical barrels at pool locations
- Enforce all City of Wichita Parks pools policies and procedures
- Completes daily chemical records, attendance numbers, and shift reports
- Ensure facility cleanliness and maintain operations of chemicals and filtration of the pool systems.

\ Requirements of Work
- Ability to listen to, read, interpret, and apply instructions received
- Ability to handle chemicals that require a respirator
- Ability to lift containers weighing up to 50lbs up to a 4 ft height
- Ability to move containers weighing up to 125lbs using mechanical assistance
- Ability to lift and move large, sometimes bulky objects weighing up to 80lbs with assistance
- Ability to climb steps or ladders
- Ability to move about quickly and stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop or squat, as needed to perform assigned tasks
- Ability to work outdoors in unpleasant weather conditions
- Ability to tolerate airborne nuisances associated with open grounds and windy conditions
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the public
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- An employee will not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
\ Required Experience and Training
- Must be at least 18 years old or older.
- Must have a current valid drivers license.
- Must have knowledge or ability to learn basic water chemistry.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.
\ Offers of employment are contingent upon passing American Red Cross Lifeguard training, drug screening, and upon satisfactory evaluation of a criminal record check.
