JOB TITLE: Security Officer DEPT: Security

REPORTS TO: Manager, General Facilities and Security DATE: February2015


PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB: The primary responsibility of the position is to monitor and safeguard all company property, including the buildings, materials and surrounding company property, employees and employee property.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Protect company property, employees and employee personal property.

· Monitor alarm systems, provide surveillance of company property visually, on foot, and through use of CCTV.

· Maintain control of incoming and outgoing shipping traffic, including:

o Inspecting trucks for C-TPAT requirements.

· Prepare forms and complete reports as required.

· Monitor and control access to the facility and grounds.

· Respond to emergencies in a timely manner.

· Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

· High School diploma or equivalent ( GED ).

· Prefer industrial security or military security experience.

· Possess a valid Driver’s License and be able to drive a Company vehicle.

· Able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; able to use reason, even when dealing with emotional topics.

· Ability to communicate with others in a calm and helpful manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport.

· Attention to detail, ability to write reports and maintain necessary daily logs.

· A good understanding of computers, including MS Office, use of the internet. SAP is a plus.

· CPR Certification and First Responder training with HAZMAT emphasis is a plus.

· Ability to be on call and work a flexible work schedule, including:

o Staying beyond shift end time as needed

o Coming in prior to shift start time as needed

o Being available to work on weekends and available for overtime as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Must be capable of sitting, standing, and/or walking for extended periods of time.

· Must be able to physically climb stairs and fixed position ladders.

· Required to work in a physical environment that is subject to temperature extremes.

· Required to work in all weather conditions, including inclement weather.

· May be required to regularly lift 25 lbs and up to 50 lbs with help.
