Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Represent the organization as a subject matter expert on Quality competencies, including statistical process control, root cause analysis, advance data analysis, and aircraft inspection philosophy. Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, Supply Chain and Engineering to provide inspection strategies through the design and build process. Provide risk management strategies, strategic solutions, quality initiatives, optimized quality control and assurance processes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop strategic plan for quality assurance engineering.
Provide technical and strategic guidance to the team regarding statistical process analysis, root cause analysis, failure mode and effect analysis, inspection methodologies and inspection plans
Identifies and completes process improvement projects related to achieving improved quality or efficiency.
Optimize existing quality processes and procedures and recommend and develop new quality processes and procedures to improve aircraft build and maintenance.
Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies that impact quality decisions through large volume data processing and statistical analysis.
Perform necessary research to maintain and exercise a working knowledge of new quality processes and techniques.
Evaluate and optimize quality planning activities including Quality Plans, Quality Assurance documents and Inspection Plans.
Develop/maintain KPIs for the quality assurance engineering processes to demonstrate process effectiveness and improved efficiency.
Promotes, encourages, and leads employees towards a continuous improvement culture.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required in:
o Supply Chain
o Industrial Engineering
o Mechanical Engineering
o Aeronautical Engineering
o Materials Engineering
o Other related field
Minimum 10 years of quality/manufacturing or relative engineering experience required.
Master's degree or PhD in engineering or related field a plus
Comprehensive understanding of aircraft structural design, aircraft systems design, and aircraft functional requirements.
Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required, Visio experience is desired.
Lean/Six Sigma certification as a green belt preferred.
QUALIFICATONS:
Experience with 14 CFR Part 21 requirements
Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies
Experience with statistical analysis and risk management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to clearly communicate technical details to others.
Creative and innovative thinker. Must be able to think outside the box and articulate abstract concepts to peers.
Action oriented and self-motivated to drive their peers to develop the best product possible.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Time management skills are required to work multiple concurrent projects of various size and scope.
