Product Manager (T-1A)



Worksdirectly with the Program Manager and Director for programs in support of theprogram and aircraft. The Product Manager will provide support for T-1Aaircraft flight line maintenance technical problems not addressed withinavailable Operations, Maintenance, Information, and Training (OMIT) data. The ProductManager shall have knowledge of the 400/T-1A aircraft basic structure,operating systems, avionics and electrical systems, engine operations, supportequipment, and required maintenance tasks including crash recovery. The ProductManger shall have a sufficient educational and experience background to performthe duties involved in maintenance, assembly, operation, repair, test, andrelated functions of the 400/T-1A aircraft. The Product Manager shall have thecapability to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel andexpress thoughts in both oral and written communication. The Product Manager mustbe able to coordinate proposals, develop statements of work and specifications,estimation of product/service costs along with negotiation and administrationof costs; ability to work directly with internal and external customers, alongwith suppliers to improve the overall performance of the fleet. The ProductManager goals rely ultimately on the success of the product and improvements orchanges to the product to make it more successful and meet customerrequirements.


  1. Results-drivenwith strong focus on delivering products on time and at or under budget

Interfacewith customers, subcontractors, and supplier counterparts regarding product ona daily basis

Planand execute project(s) according to established milestones and schedule to meetcontract obligations

Abilityto work in a cross-functional environment

Abilityto effectively communicate internally and externally

Participatein and provide metrics and briefs to various levels of management as required

SupportCapture Management, prepare Statements of Work, technical and cost proposals inthe pursuit of new requirements

Preparelabor and material bid estimates for project execution

Controlproject cost versus budget and be accountable for project profit/loss

Producedeliverables as required by the contract

Managerisk to projects for company and customer

Supportthe resolution of T-1A aircraft equipment or system anomalies

PerformT- 1A aircraft equipment and system fault reporting and fault isolationprocedures

Usehandling equipment, special tools, and test equipment

Emphasizesafety precautions which should be taken during the operation and maintenanceof the T-1A aircraft

Provideinterpretation of technical data set forth in US Government Technical Orders

Validatethe best method for accomplishing time compliance technical orders orinstalling modification and retrofit kits

Assistin mishap investigations, as well as, service reporting and materiel deficiencyreport evaluations

Participatein hands-on depot level maintenance tasks when requested by the Program Office

Participatein testing functional and operational checks of T-1A aircraft, when authorizedby the Program Office



  • Bachelordegree required in

Business Management Engineering Related field

Program/ProjectManagement certification preferred

Relativeexperience preferred


  • Experiencedwith Microsoft Project for task scheduling

Abilityto use Pro-Pricer

Abilityto implement and manage other elements to support the product

Ableto independently determine and develop approaches to solutions with onlygeneral direction

Excellentverbal and written communication skills

Adaptabilityin dealing with people who are technically focused as well as those focused onbusiness processes

Strongcommend of MS Office Tools

Abilityto influence senior leaders using data and lead transformational change
