Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Wichita, KS. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

This position will provide support to ensure suppliers are delivering products with 100% conformance. Candidate will need to work well within supplier management teams and think outside of the box to ensure that suppliers are supported and mentored, as necessary, to ensure consistent product quality is guaranteed with on-time deliveries. In addition, strong RCCA techniques will be necessary.

  • Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.

  • Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.

  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment, conducts quality assurance tests, and performs statistical analyses to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

  • Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.

  • Specializes in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

  • Certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma quality engineering methodologies preferred.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Supplier Quality Engineer or a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer level.

Basic Qualifications for a Supplier Quality Engineer:

  • Must have a High school diploma and 6 years of related professional experience in lieu of bachelor's degree OR have a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related professional experience, OR a Master's degree and 0 years of related professional experience.

  • Must have the ability to attain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.

  • Must have the ability to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR).

  • Valid State Driver's License to operate a personal motor vehicle

  • Have dependable motor transportation, to travel to local suppliers

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer:

  • Must have a High school diploma and 8 years of related professional experience in lieu of bachelor's degree OR have a Bachelor's degree and 4 years of related professional experience, OR a Master's degree and 2 years of related professional experience.

  • Must have the ability to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR).

  • Valid State Driver's License to operate a personal motor vehicle

  • Have dependable motor transportation, to travel to local suppliers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) opposed to just a high school degree

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (or higher)

  • Supplier Quality experience in industry

  • Current Special Program Access

  • Prior experience working on Supplier Management Teams
