Spirit AeroSystems Precision Maintenance Technician in Wichita, Kansas

Responsibilities

Align with applicable manufacturers, industry, regulatory standards, shop practices and procedures to diagnose, operate, develop, construct, layout, install, service, repair, rebuild, maintain, investigate, modify, assemble, and disassemble, align, and correct all types of Multi-Axis CNC Machines, process equipment/systems and cranes for all reactive and planned activity.

Accountabilities :

  • Perform root cause analysis in support of reliability processes and collaborate with vendors, engineering, team leader, customer, other crafts, and management to solve equipment problems and develop corrective action.

  • Enter and retrieve data from the CMMS system and order parts required to accomplish the tasks.

  • Work with Management, Engineering, Equipment Manufacturers/Vendors, and other organizations to plan, perform design reviews, buyoffs, F.A.T. (final acceptance test) and sequence the installation of new and rebuilt equipment.

  • During initial checkout of new and rebuilt assets and systems, troubleshoot and correct, design, and engineering related issues for the timely completion of the project.

  • Plan the sequence of work for Precision Maintenance Technician employees engaged in all mechanical phases of rebuild, repair and maintenance of equipment.

  • Use and maintain precision alignment and measuring equipment such as but not limited to, precision inspection equipment, electronic levels, laser trackers, precision levels, micrometers, etc.

  • Perform necessary lubrication requirements as needed during emergent & planned repairs.

  • Coordinate with other organizations and specialties to provide reliability failure analysis and problem resolution for assets and systems.

  • Train and mentor other employees in the same job classification and apprentices who will graduate to this job classification.

  • Assist in researching, developing, and delivering skill training for the purpose of skills enhancement and training plans.

  • Sequence and develop detailed job plans, routinely access Preventative Maintenance, service plans, and coordinate with all affected parties.

Qualifications

Requirements :

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to work any shift and OT as needed

  • All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks. Majority of new hires will be hired on 2nd shift.

    Preferred Qualifications :

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a Precision Maintenance Tech capacity
