Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of pharmacy services.

  • Develop and implement performance improvement activities to include medication safety, medication use evaluation and pharmacoeconomics.

  • Conduct competency assessments and coordinate the training and development of pharmacists, pharmacy residents and pharmacy students. Develop and manage departmental budget to promote pharmacoeconomics.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations. Also serve on various committees.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Licensed Pharmacist credentialed from the Kansas Board of Pharmacy obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.

Work Experience:

  • 3 years of experience required OR a graduate from an accredited Health System Pharmacy Administration residency program required.

Ascension Via Christi is looking for a talented and motivated individual to lead our embedded ambulatory pharmacy program. The individual will report to the VP of Pharmacy and will have direct reports including: embedded primary care pharmacists, embedded specialty pharmacists (including pharmacotherapy and Cystic Fibrosis), they will also be responsible for the PGY2 ambulatory care residency program. Our Ambulatory care program includes pharmacists in private practice offices and in HOPD clinics associated with the hospital. This person will need to focus on tracking and justification of services both clinical and economic. The individual should have working knowledge of 340b programs and growing clinical programs and services. They will also work closely with our clinic leadership on adherence and with our outpatient pharmacies to help encourage continuity of care in the organization. The individual will also work with the Ascension Rx national pharmacy team on strategies for ambulatory pharmacy services. The ideal candidate will have residency training and/or experience in ambulatory care and administration.
