Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 -5:00




Performs advanced legal work for the Office of the District Attorney. Processes requests for clemency, pardons and expungements in accordance with established and accepted policies and procedures.




Review and respond to requests for clemency


+ Review incoming notification of clemency requests


+ Review case detail and determine if additional information is needed for review


+ Consult with attorney assigned to the involved case(s) for determination of appropriate response to the request


+ Consult with administration as necessary


+ Consult with other agencies/parties as needed


+ Draft response




Review and respond to pardon requests


+ Review incoming notification for pardon requests


+ Review case detail and determine if additional information is needed for review


+ Consult with attorney assigned to the involved case(s) for determination of appropriate response to the request


+ Consult with administration as necessary


+ Consult with other agencies/parties as needed


+ Draft response




Process applications for expungement


+ Review expungement forms for completeness and accuracy


+ Track expungement requests on spreadsheet


+ Contact defendant or attorney as needed regarding missing information


+ Enter notes and track request in case management system


+ Research case and compile needed information


+ Ensure criminal history check is completed


+ Compile all information, make a preliminary assessment of eligibility for expungement and provide to reviewing attorney


+ Send approval/disapproval notifications and letters


+ Other duties as assigned




Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent including or supplemented by courses in secretarial subjects. Two years’ experience in varied clerical and secretarial work or any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.




Preferred Qualifications: College degree in paralegal studies or other law related field. Two years' experience as a paralegal. Paralegal certification.
