Job Title: Operator Machinist

Summary: Set up, maintains and operates multiple metal cutting Machines. Setup and operate all machine groups within the Machine Shop.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Performs own tool maintenance to maintain efficient production and specified quality standards
Perform all finished part inspections to maintain specified quality standards
Sets up machines, verifies accuracy of first pieces and makes necessary adjustments to complete set, and produce parts to required quality specifications
Loads stock into machine
Maintains tooling as well as other associated tools
Performs new tool tryouts and provides input on new parts and their layouts pertaining to tooling sequence.
Makes machine adjustments such as clutch , belts, and tool offsets
Keeps machines and work area clean and orderly
Reports material shortages
Troubleshoot tooling and machine problems and offer solutions
Observe all safety rules and supports team objectives
Other duties as assigned
· Capable of performing all operations on assigned machines with minimal instructions or supervision
· May be required to assist in the training of other employees
· Must be able to work a weekend schedule
· Must be able to work overtime as needed

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred or combination of related experience plus education.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write and understand basic English.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
