Spirit AeroSystems Operations Support Specialist 737 Fuselage in Wichita, Kansas

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • 1st and 2nd shift openings

  • Provides expertise in manufacturing and production engineering & Quality processes

  • Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required. Teams to coordinate with include Quality, Engineering, management, lean, tooling, operations, and with other support disciplines or core functions as required

  • Develops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principles

  • Leads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projects

  • Provides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff

  • Provides assistance in manufacturing and production processes

  • Offers guidance and coaching to Operations manufacturing staff

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience [OR a Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience] in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support

  • High level of understanding of manufacturing specifically in Aerospace

  • MS office suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail

  • Active listener and willing to learn

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-based environment

  • Self-motivated; taking ownership of projects and issues, including follow through to closure

  • Project Management experience

  • Experience with SAP

  • Understanding of fabrication and/or assembly build processes and sequencing

  • Experience in Continuous improvement and Manufacturing Support

  • Familiarity with drilling and fastening parts

  • Experience with SAP and MES

  • Bachelor's Degree or Trade School certificate is preferred but not required
