This job was posted by : For more information, please see: The Network Operations Center Technician is responsible for proactively monitoring AgVantis' network devices and file processing operations by reviewing and interpreting alerts and assisting customers who are experiencing service issues. The technician provides limited trouble investigation and resolution and escalates more complex issues to the technical services group.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* Operates computer equipment and peripherals according to specified procedures, and maintains a working knowledge of system functions in order to ensure optimum utilization and availability of computer equipment.* Analyzes aborted production runs and equipment failure. Notifies appropriate person(s) of the problem.* Ensures processing requests are properly logged and completed according to defined procedures.* Contacts users concerning needed corrections or information and coordinates special requests with users.* Participates in the documentation of operations processes to facilitate migration of jobs away manually initiated jobs towards process automation.* Monitors all core and customer connections for any potential performance problems (utilization, intrusion, loss of connectivity) and respond and escalate in an expedited manner to the technical services group any anomalies.* Monitors critical file transfer operations to ensure files are both received and sent as required.* Ensures service interruptions are immediately acted upon and the interruption is actively managed to service restoral; effectively document all steps taken to resolve issues.* Investigates, responds, and escalates issues in an expedited manner by working with the Infrastructure team, company SME's, and vendors.* Provides strong customer service abilities including the ability to work with trouble tickets and calls, tracks their progression and resolution and provides follow-up communications.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Education including an Associates' degree or equivalent experience.* 1+ year working in a network operations center or on a technical support team in a troubleshooting and provisioning role.* 1+ year working in a computer operation center or in a computer operations role.* Working knowledge of Solarwinds and SPLUNK or other enterprise network and log monitoring tools.* Strong communications skills including the ability to create documentation for standard operating procedures, process flows (as part of process automation), checklists, and run books.* Highly skilled in oral, written and interpersonal communication.* Ability to interpret, follow and establish procedures.* Ability to quickly analyze problem situations, determine priorities and decide on best course of action.* Ability to research and prepare technical reports; demonstrate a high level of integrity and ethics in maintaining confidential information.* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management* Regular attendance is required on this job, with the ability to work a full 8-hour day.
