Description
JOB SUMMARY:
To load and/or assist loading and operate assigned multiple unit vehicle to transport cargo to or from a specified location as required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Loads and/or assists loading of assigned multiple unit vehicle and operates same to transport cargo to or from a specified location.
II. Uses knowledge of loading requirements and sound judgement when loading, blocking, and lashing parts, equipment or other cargo for transport to preclude damage in transit.
III. Operates assigned vehicle to perform duties as dispatched or in accordance with planned schedule. May require some judgement to make minor route changes due to varying circumstances.
IV. Maintains a daily log of vehicle utilization as required by company and/or governmental regulations.
V. Responsible for proper care of assigned unit(s), and may make minor repairs to mechanical or safety related deficiencies, reporting all such issues to the supervisor.
VI. Responsible for quality of own work.
VII. Performs other related duties as require.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Requires a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification, and must possess a valid Class "A" CDL with no manual transmission restrictions. Current DOT Medical Card required.
EXPERIENCE:
Requires a minimum of three years’ experience operating a multiunit vehicle including semitrailer operation. At least 1 year within the past 5 years operating a multiunit vehicle including a semitrailer operation is preferred. Previous Textron Aviation Traffic experience desirable.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Occasionally disagreeable conditions due to exposure to weather and various ambient temperatures.
