The Assistant provides scheduling support, documentation, laboratory forms completion, data entry and communications support for the mobile sample team that collects specimens for COVID-19 testing. The Assistant may be called upon to support other teams as workload requires. As needed, the Assistant will travel to testing locations and support COVID-19 sampling operations, including check-in/check-out and documentation under full or partial Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The Assistant performs advanced clerical work in fiscal operations and perform a wide variety of complex fiscal processes to account for County records and funds. The Assistant ensures fiscal processes comply with departmental policies and procedures, processes client data, and ensures client confidentiality.In-person at mobile testing sites or over the phone, provide patient interactions for the mobile sample team and other teamsSchedule COVID testing appointmentsCreate/update medical records and accurately complete data entryCheck-in and check-out clients politely and professionallyUtilize correct payment status for clientsProvide accurate and up-to-date information to clientsPerform accurate and timely data entry into electronic records and assure accuracy of encounters and procedure codesAccurately enter patient data into Health Department client management and laboratory requisition systemsAudit data to verify information is correct and completeCorrect errors timelyProduce reports and research client history to ensure no client billing for laboratory testingAccurately update client accounts on a daily basisProduce daily report of activitiesConduct funds accountability prior to a scheduled or foreseeable absenceMinimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, including or supplemented by course work in bookkeeping, accounting, or related fiscal work.Preferred Qualifications: Post-high school course work in bookkeeping, accounting, or related fiscal work. One year of experience in fiscal work, billing, and/or customer service environment. One year experience working in a public health department or healthcare facility.
