Responsibilities

Verifies dimensions of parts using both mechanical and electronic measurement tools and, relative to these inspection duties, initiate and document corrective action for programming issues and other problems. Employee must have the skill and knowledge to perform in all the general functions of the Assembly Mechanic to include the following:

  • Maintain required personal certifications.

  • Perform complete inspection, including first part review, of procured or fabricated parts and assemblies.

  • Initiate and document any non-conforming condition for Material Review Board action.

  • Perform process surveillance to assure compliance with requirements.

  • Prepare and maintain quality records.

  • Setup and operate conventional and Computerized Numerical Controlled (CNC) fastening equipment, similar to Multi-Task Gantry Riveter, C-Frames, etc., to assemble components in accordance with engineering specifications.

  • Assembly/Installation Doors Integral Fuel Cell Sealing Precision Bench Assembly Pressure and vacuum testing.

  • Provide high-level technical support and leadership relative to assembly and installation.

Qualifications

  • In order to be considered for this 2nd shift opportunity, preferred candidates will possess a minimum of 6 months of aircraft structural sheet metal experience or have successfully completed Aero Structural Training

  • Operate measurement and testing equipment, machines, and devices in accordance with established procedures

  • Load, locate, and unload, parts and assemblies

  • Disassemble and prepare assemblies to accomplish rework, repair or change incorporation on completed assembliesDrill, saw, file, sand, build up, trim, fit, and fasten parts to meet production requirements utilizing any required hand or power tools

  • Fabricate, assemble, and install systems elements

  • Maintain or repair tools, shop aids, equipment, and facilities as necessary to accomplish work assignments including first-level maintenance on machines and equipment

  • Candidates must also possess the willingness to work assigned shift and overtime as required as well as the ability to work on concrete floors, uneven surfaces, and in confined spaces, as well as walk on open floor beams, climb on stairs/scaffolding, crawl/kneel in work station, and lift/move parts and/or tools

  • All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks. The majority of new hires will be hired on 2nd shift
