Job Details:

• This position is part of a team with Purchasing, Warehouse, Product Sectors and other GPV companies, to work to reduce costs while maintaining a focus on carrier service quality by negotiating and managing contracts with:
  1. package carriers
  2. less than a truckload (LTL) carriers
  3. mail carriers
  4. all other domestic carriers
  5. outgoing, international freight
  6. inbound, international freight for raw materials and tooling movement
  7. local area courier and carrier services
• This position will maintain freight cost performance to contract, cost data on inbound and outbound freight and track the amount of individual damaged freight claims. They will use data to continuously improve our freight usage in terms of quality and cost.
• This position will arrange shipments with carriers, for GPI and GPA including expedite and hot-shot shipments with carriers.
• Evaluates the risk and benefit of cargo insurance and acts accordingly.
• Coordinates with GPI Receiving and Shipping for all inbound and outbound shipments.
• This position is accountable to:
  1. claim processing and management for missing or damaged shipments.
  2. resolve damage disputes with carriers.
  3. review and approve freight invoices and troubleshoot all discrepancies.
• Holds responsibility to report and conduct root cause analysis on late shipment (carrier) performance and communicate solutions.
• Create, maintain and publish various KPIs on international and domestic measurables.
• Troubleshoots problems with individual shipments as they arise.
• Includes advising shipping terms and specifications on inbound and outbound orders.
• This position will work with various groups to keep track of movement of critical orders.
• Maintains freight provider master data and pricing in Syteline and Starship.
• Serves as the expert on duties, tariffs and Incoterms for GPI and our related companies.
• Arranges and oversees transportation logistics for outside processing (OP) operations.
• Maintains Syteline import/export codes, which is part of new item setup.
