Perform statistically-based tolerance analysis using manual and computer-based methods to ensure end-item requirements are met; use CATIA or NX product definitions as the basis for simulation modeling.
Develops complex detail and assembly tolerance schemes for product definitions utilizing GD&T per ASME Y14.5M.
Develops functional, useable, stable, coordinated datum reference schemes.
Develops tolerance requirements for all stages of the build process to support build plans development.
Develops unique airframe design solutions to limit/control variation.
Develops manufacturing sequencing and indexing plans using tooling and part-to-part indexing methods to limit/control variation.
Develops product validation methods, plans, and processes for the Integrated Product Team.
Performs producibility assessments of detail parts and assemblies for the Integrated Product Team.
Coordinates with internal and external team members including suppliers and customers to ensure everyone understands process capability, dimensional requirements and key characteristics associated with the product.
Assists production team with root cause and corrective action (RCCA) using analysis tools & processes.
Uses MS-Excel and VBA macros for measurement data analysis and generates reporting templates.
Develops rudimentary Finite Element Models using FEMAP software.
BS or higher degree in Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
US Citizenship Required
5+ years of experience in GD&T and Variation analysis tolerance stack-ups
Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Experience with Teamcenter Visualizations (Vis-VA) or 3DCS preferred
Some travel may be required
Proven ability to work with stakeholders across multiple Business Units and geographical regions.
