Sierra Nevada Corporation IT Support Technician IV in Wichita, Kansas

Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovation solutions? Join our team! As an IT Support Technician IV, you will be using your skills and expertise to provide computer, hardware, and software support to our employees. You'll be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing desktop/laptop computers, providing personal computer, hardware, and software support and installing software.

As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

This hands-on technical position will diagnose, resolve, and respond to local IT incidents and service requests. Support will take place in a primarily MS Windows based environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and administration for computing hardware and systems, software installations, equipment inventory, proprietary software, and network connectivity to ensure the efficient and successful operations of site IT in accordance with SNC corporate business, security, and IT standards, practices, policies, and procedures.

  • Responsible for inventory management to include the configuration, repair, break/fix, moves/add/changes and integration of new and existing computing hardware.

  • Provide basic network support ensuring desktop and other networked peripherals full connectivity.

  • Responsible for providing outstanding customer-centered quality support and service ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Address/resolve IT incidents/service request; promptly enter/prioritizes/track/monitor/update and follow-up/ close all tickets received via the IT Service Desk tracking system, telephone calls and/or SNC personnel “walk-ups”.

  • Support organizational efforts and maintaining policies and procedures in the IT Department and Lab environments.

  • Provide conference room function checks and assist with meeting support activities.

Must-haves:

  • Associate's Degree in a related field of study with 6 or more years of relevant experience

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Strong sense of customer/solution ownership, an overall drive for excellence, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects to successful completion

  • Team focused with the capacity for knowledge sharing and team leadership

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with end users and leadership

  • Drive to maintain current knowledge of industry trends and potential impact on the business

  • Demonstrate a customer care philosophy that ensures a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Ability to understand user and business needs and translate to technical solutions

  • Ability to manage small IT projects

  • In-depth knowledge of current IT technical standards as related to computers, printers, network technology, drivers, software troubleshooting, VPN technologies and RSA and Video Teleconference (VTC) and other related peripherals

  • Comprehensive troubleshooting skills of industry standard hardware and software products/services

Preferred:

  • Tier II desktop support

  • A/V Conference Room support
