Advanced administration and support of Mainframe Hardware (zSeries & storage), Operating System, IBM Subsystems and Third Party software. Researches, plans, and executes complex upgrades and installations to the mainframe environment. Significant contributor to the technology Roadmap and Strategy documents with focus on Cost Effectiveness. Provides mentoring and training as needed.
+ Perform regular and critical maintenance activities as required
+ Perform the day-to-day mainframe administration functions
+ Perform analysis of business requirements and the impact to infrastructure
+ Present value vs cost options
+ Participate in the planning, documentation and execution of business continuity tasks/exercises
+ Meet applicable service levels
+ Attend required training classes
+ Perform Project Management Practices (PMP) processes required for projects and activities

+ Possess 5 years’ experience administering a mainframe environment.
+ Experience must include installing, configuring, and maintaining z/OS or mainframe software products (IMS, MQ & CICS).
+ Willingness to support all aspects of Mainframe System’s responsibilities.
+ Working experience with z/OS, BMC Mainview and IBM MQ for z/OS.
Infrastructure Senior System Administrator positions require the following:
Bachelor Degree or completion of a Computer Science Program from a Technical Trade School is preferred. Successful completion of the Infrastructure Advanced Learning Program is preferred for internal progressions. Technical training with certification in assigned technology is required as applicable. Internal progressions, without a Bachelor’s degree, must have completed the Blue University Leadership Discovery SALT and Pepper curriculum or Exploration curriculum. External applicants without a Bachelor’s degree must complete the Blue University Leadership Discovery SALT and Pepper curriculum or Exploration curriculum within three years of starting this position. Training in ITIL, COBIT, and Agile is preferred.
+ Minimum of eight years experience in I.T. infrastructure and/or application development is required.
+ Must have proven successful project management skills.
+ Must have successfully managed assigned technology by performing regular and critical maintenance tasks within defined service levels.
+ Proven analytical aptitude by reviewing business needs and identifying their effect on the existing infrastructure.
+ Continued technical growth in knowledge throug h formal education, certifications and experience working with other technicians.
