Performs laundry and general housekeeping duties in facilities within the Department of Corrections.


+ 40% - Laundry Services - Washes, dries, and folds laundry; puts laundered items away in designated areas of the facility.


+ 30% - Custodial Services - Cleans, sweeps, vacuums, restocks supplies, empties trash, etc. as assigned. Maintains laundry area in a clean and safe manner. Cleans dryer filters daily and other filters as assigned.


+ 20% - Inventory Maintenance - Maintains inventory of clothing, linen and cleaning supplies. Restocks supply areas with clean towels, sheets, blankets, clothing, and related cleaning supplies.


Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Transcript verifying education credits is required. Pass legal background check, Child and Adult Abuse & Neglect Central Registry checks, KCJIS Security Policy (fingerprint) check, and pre-employment screen for alcohol and drugs. Must also meet the required conditions contained in KSA 65-516 and KAR 28-4-356. Professional references are required to verify the related work experience.


Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in housekeeping/laundry work.
