Provide direct in home prenatal and parenting education and support to fathers and families in Sedgwick County with a focus on engaging fathers during the prenatal and interconception period. Education and support is provided both in home and community settings to encourage paternal social, financial, and emotional support of families. This position also coordinates group support work for fathers and plans community engagement activities.
+ Conducts program required screening of fathers/supporting partners to evaluate psychosocial risk factors
+ Provide referrals to external services based on screening tool results as needed
+ Provide education on prenatal/interconceptional topics such as child care, healthy relationships, substance use, mental health, and general male health topics
+ Document risk factors and client interactions within 48 hours
+ Participate in reflective supervision with coordinator on a regular basis
+ Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities through chart audits and feedback with coordinators and other staff
+ Conducts outreach and recruitment of current and potential Healthy Babies clients with a focus on father or supporting partner
+ Facilitates fatherhood/male partner support groups in community and include male health topics as well as prenatal/interconceptional education
+ Provides social support to male clients on ongoing basis
+ Develop and implement community-based fatherhood programming
+ Participate in community outreach activities and actively serve on multiple coalitions that are relevant to male involvement
+ Represents Healthy Babies in a professional manner by participating in health fairs, community events, coalitions and conducting presentations for other community agencies.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Health Education, or related field. Minimum one year case management or social service experience with males, children, or families, or any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Work, Health Education, Public Health, or related field. Two years case management, home visitation, or social service experience with males, children, or families, or any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies. Bilingual preferred.
