Ascension Health Gastroenterology Technician in Wichita, Kansas

What You Will Do

Perform patient care related to the digestive system.

  • Provide instructions as indicated for each specific Gastroenterology (GI) procedure.

  • Confer with nursing staff when needed.

  • Document patient assessment and health history from patient/family.

  • Recognize and respond to emergency situations in patient care.

  • Make post procedure calls on Gastroenterology (GI) patients. Reports concerns to nursing staff/physician as indicated.

What You Will Need

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

  • One or more of the following required:

  • Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Acceptable issuing authorities include AAH, AAMA, NAHP and NHA.

  • Nurse Aide credentialed from the Kansas Nurse Aide Registry obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
