Work Schedule: Varies - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday with evening and weekends possible




This is a temporary position in the Sedgwick County Health Department for COVID-19 response. Provides outreach to residents, businesses and community partners regarding COVID-19. Responds to COVID-19 related questions from the public and businesses and organizations via phone call or email. Provides education. Directs calls and emails to subject matter experts as needed. Ensures a response to all calls and emails within one day. Provides advanced clerical work and customer service. Ensures client confidentiality.




Provide outreach to residents, businesses and community partners regarding COVID-19


+ Follow call procedure to contact businesses and agencies and offer information regarding COVID-19 and vaccine clinics being held in their area. Follow-up as needed.


+ Generate flyers for vaccine clinics.


+ Provide neighborhood canvassing in the areas of vaccine clinics, which includes placing door hanger vaccine information on doors, delivering flyers to neighborhood vaccine clinics, etc.


+ Provide COVID-19 outreach at vaccine clinics at events.


+ Collect requested data using electronic systems


+ Follow designated workflows and communicate with supervisor as necessary


+ Produce daily report of activities




Respond to COVID-19 related questions from the public and businesses and organizations


+ Respond to calls and emails using good customer service and listening skills


+ Provide accurate and up-to-date information about COVID-19 to clients


+ Direct calls and emails to subject matter experts as needed, following procedures.


+ Accurately and timely document all calls and emails in call log


+ Assist in researching and creating responses to questions


+ Follow HIPAA policies




Perform other COVID-19 response duties


+ Communicate needs, concerns, and issues to supervisor


+ Assist with daily report creation, as needed


+ Communicate with partner organizations, as needed


+ Perform data entry and other clerical duties for COVID-19 Response as assigned




Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, including or supplemented by course work in bookkeeping, accounting, or related customer service work. Good customer service skills




Preferred Qualifications: Post-high school course work in customer service-related area. One year of experience in fiscal work and/or customer service environment. Work experience in a public health department. Bilingual in English and either Spanish or Vietnamese.
