Overview / Job Summary:\ We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Manufacturing Technology Instructor to join our institution\'s academic team. In this dual role, the instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in our core manufacturing technology courses such as OSHA/Safety, Precision Measuring, and Blueprint Reading as well as offering instruction in the science of tooling and jig building and advanced measuring systems associated. The instructor\'s role will encompass delivering practical classroom instruction and hands-on training to equip students for successful careers in the manufacturing industry. We are seeking an ideal candidate with a robust foundation in tooling/jig, manufacturing processes, equipment, and cutting-edge technologies, coupled with the adeptness to convey intricate concepts to students with clarity and effectiveness.\ \ Your day-to-dayresponsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive instruction in manufacturing technology and tooling/jig courses, both theoretical and practical, to undergraduate students.
  • Develop course syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials that align with the program\'s objectives and industry standards.
  • Plan and supervise laboratory and workshop activities related to manufacturing technology.
  • Demonstrate proper use of manufacturing equipment, tools, and techniques.
  • The banquet chef will stay knowledge of current and updated culinary trends through personal research and professional development activities.
  • Collaborate with the program administration and other faculty members to develop and update the tooling/jig and manufacturing technology curriculum.

To remain up to date with tooling and manufacturing technology, engage in ongoing professional development by attending workshops, seminars, and conferences. Foster relationships with industry partners by actively participating in professional networks and industry events\ \ Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Prefer 2-5 years of experience operating Coordinate Measurement Systems including Faro, Leica, or API Laser Trackers, Arms, and the operation of SA, Verisurf, Metrology, and PolyWorks software systems. Understand basic shop math/ trig and GD&T requirements.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and processes. Proven experience in welding, machining, and electronics is preferred.
  • Analyze blueprints, engineering models, engineer drawings and electronic control tools before programming and compare results with original planning specifications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, CATIA V5/6, Mastercam X7, Solidworks or newer to model cutting paths and program for 2 to 5 axis machines.
  • Confidence in the application, setup, and troubleshooting FARO Laser tracker equipment and spatial analyzer software.
  • Previous teaching or training experience is highly desirable.

  • Proven ability to work independently with little or no supervision, showcasing self-motivation and initiative.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers and software applications, with a focus on Microsoft Office tools.
