Fuel Cell Sealer 3 - 1st Shift



To assemble and seal integral fuel cells. May be required to work under the assistance of higher grade sealers.


  1. Performs a variety of operations in preparing, sealing and testing "wet wing" fuel cells.


  1. Performs fay surface, pre-pack, injection, fillet and brush coat aircraft sealing operations according to oral and written instructions and standard shop practices.


  1. Performs sheet metal assembly as necessary to build up wing fuel cells including drilling, countersinking, fitting, trimming, riveting, etc. Follows established cleaning procedures prior to sealing using specified solvent, lint-free cloth, pipe cleaners and/or funnel brushes.


  1. Tests assembled wings by applying required amount of air and ammonia solution under pressure and checks for leaks.

  2. Performs any rework required to include removing old sealant, re-cleaning and re-sealing to prevent leaks and failure of parts to meet specifications.

  3. Requires the use of a variety of sheet metal hand and power tools, and sealing tools such as spatulas, scrapers, rollers, sealing gun, fairing tool and durometer.

  4. Responsible for quality of own work.

  5. Performs other related duties as required.



Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires the use of specification sheets, blueprints, simple arithmetic and common measuring instruments such as scales and gauges.


Minimum 3 months of sheet metal assembly, sheet metal sealing or related experience required. Requires completion of Textron Aviation Integral Fuel Cell Sealing Training course within six (6) months of entering the classification.

This role is eligible for $2,000 (pre-tax) sign-on bonus
