The Financial Analyst Position for HealthCore Clinic, Inc. (HCC) requires a highly organized, independent person. This person will provide accurate and data based information that will further the clinic’s profitability, solvency and stability. This position requires a fundamental understanding of and passion for the mission of HealthCore Clinic.

Job Description

This job requires an individual with excellent accounting skills, good working knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL, attention to detail, good judgment, excellent organization skills, excellent decision making, analytical and problem solving skills, exceptional time management skills, ability to multi-task and organize work effectively, ability to work independently and as a cooperative team member.

Patient-Centered Medical Home Job Responsibilities

1. Patient Population Management:

a. Maintains a professional and effective accounting department that ensures the longevity of the clinic and the programs that it provides.

2. Care Coordination:

a. Collaborate with staff to understand patient and claims data for business analysis.

3. Self-management Support:

a. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required, including the ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing work environment. Display good judgment and decision-making skills.

4. Communication Skills:

a. Display the ability to communicate effectively with vulnerable populations, including those made vulnerable by their financial status, personality characteristics, place of residence, health status, and/or age.

b. Display professional appearance in accordance with HealthCore Clinic’s policy.

c. Proven effective written and verbal communication skills

5. Quality Improvement:

a. Continually strives for quality improvement within the accounting department of the organization.

b. Attends company-wide quality improvement training sessions.

Other Job Duties

+ Consolidate and analyze financial data (gross charges, write-offs, adjustments, bad debt expenses, cash collections) taking into account clinic’s goals and financial standing.

+ Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data.

+ Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.

+ Track clinic performance vs budgets and analyze fluctuations, risks and opportunities.

+ Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.

+ Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis.

+ Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models.

+ Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.

+ Identify key business areas to drive growth or cost saving opportunities.

+ Perform profitability analysis, scenario testing and assist with the coordination of forecasting, budgeting and strategic planning to maximize revenue.

+ Develop training and help implement/modify Billing system to be more efficient to track costs and claims. Be a super user of the Billing system to adapt to changing billing environments.

+ Other duties as assigned.

+ Minimum 2-3 years finance or related experience, health care preferred

+ Minimum 1 year experience working with healthcare software systems (preferred)


Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires hand grasp and finger dexterity; frequent sitting, standing, walking and repetitive leg and arm movements, occasional bending, reaching forward and overhead; squatting and kneeling. Ability to effectively communicate verbally, and in writing.
