Meritrust Credit Union Financial Analyst in Wichita, Kansas
The Financial Analyst provides organizational product profitability analysis, assists with forecasting/budgeting, financial management reporting; product and service cost/benefit analysis; trend analysis and supports the practice of financial disciplines throughout the organization.

Budget Process Coordination: Work closely with Senior Director in the preparation of the annual budget (including line of business worksheets and assumptions).
Prepare and disseminate actual to budget financial reports to line of business leaders, monthly.
Aid in the capital budgeting and expenditure planning processes.
Develop financial modeling to assist business forecasting budgeting and analysis. Develop understanding of key business activities to effectively evaluate business unit assumptions.
Balance Sheet Management: Perform business analysis, reporting and analytic measurements to assist in monitoring and guiding the financial performance of the organization.
Liquidity Management: Assists with the liquidity management function of the credit union.
Monitor and project periodic cash requirements, deposit flows and cash availability as well as funding projection requirements.
Prepares ALM reports utilized by the CFO and Senior Director of Finance for liquidity review, including ALM periodic benchmark reports. Participates in making continuous improvements to the ALM process.
Financial Management: Develop financial and data models utilizing credit union data. Conduct research of financial and member data.
Profitability Management: Prepares and reviews accurate, timely reliable product, line of business member and channel profitability results, analysis and reporting.
Supports product development, pricing and promotions through cost analysis, accounting research and product profitability modeling.
Assist with the evaluation of business investments to ensure alignment with strategy and financial objectives using ROI analysis.
Maintain participations portfolio, tracking P & I, losses, and earnings.
Risk Management: Collaborate with all areas of risk and lines of business to help support the continued development, implementation and effectiveness of the credit union’s Enterprise Risk Management program.
Assists with gathering documentation and reports for auditors and examiners.
Project Management: Provide support to directors/managers to build the financial documentation and metrics needed for approval and moving the project forward.
Develop models to support business use case for strategic business projects.
Serve as finance representative on project teams, providing support for strategic and departmental initiatives.
General Ledger: Performs general ledger account reconciliations and analytics to support financial reporting. Demonstrates an understanding of the business functions and transactions that drive general ledge account balances, as well as identifying documenting, and clearing reconciling items on a timely basis.
Data Management: Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support.
Understand source and use of data and application to business goals and problem resolution.
Daily tracking and reporting of key credit union metrics.
Perform market research and provide analysis of trends, business intelligence and financial information key to sound financial decisions.
Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics or another related field.
3 to 5 years of business finance or other relevant experience; desired experience includes financial planning and analysis, data analytics, banking, accounting or business intelligence applications.
Advanced Knowledge of Excel, fluent with formulas and functions; particular emphasis on graphs, charts, complex formulas, macros, pivot tables, lookups)
Knowledge of financial and accounting theory, financial analysis software and accounting systems.
Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical, quantitative, detail-oriented mindset.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
Skilled in gathering, analyzing and compiling highly complex financial and statistical data and with the ability to draw valid conclusions and present results.
