The Field Agronomist must love to work with growers on the farm and in their fields alongside a network of Pioneer Sales Rep agencies that have a common passion for agriculture, adding value and improving the customer experience. Individuals must like working independently and in a team being able to contribute to a high-performing and dynamic sales team. Key personal qualities include confidence, competitiveness, a desire to win, drive to succeed, strong communication skills, and being a team player. Critical decision-making skills are also necessary for this position and a desire to constantly learn and improve to strive towards excellence. A strong work ethic, moral standards with a high level of professionalism, and pride in the quality of work performed will lead to success for this individual. The Field Agronomist would work alongside a Territory Manager, Strategic Account Manager, Product Agronomist, and Sales Representatives as a team to achieve a common territory unit and revenue target.

The candidate will act as a liaison with local Pioneer Sales Reps to grow market share and strengthen relationships with key operations. Focused areas are Pioneer product training, positioning, general agronomy, team-selling, and providing grower solutions to add value and increase yield and profitability to help key operations be sustainable. This role will utilize the suite of Corteva products and services including Corteva Crop Protection and Granular Digital to provide solutions to growers with Pioneer Seed. Skills and knowledge in precision agriculture are highly desired.

This is a remote position and can be based anywhere within Southwest Kansas. If hired, you may be required to travel as necessary to support business activities.

Responsibilities:

A Day in the Life of You:

  • Target field activities to key accounts to build relationships and drive sales of Pioneer® brand products.

  • Develop and provide agronomic and product education and training to the field sales force that supports the sales and service of Pioneer products.

  • Collaborate with the Product Life Cycle Manager and Agronomy Manager to plan and conduct regional agronomy field trials that improve the product management and/or product positioning of Pioneer seed products.

  • Partner with Product Agronomists, Territory Managers, Strategic Account Managers, and Sales Reps to create and deliver product and digital services information that improves the productivity and profitability of Pioneer customers.

  • Serve as a primary agronomic resource to Territory managers to resolve difficult customer concerns.

Qualifications

Requirements:

What expertise have you grown?

  • Bachelor's degree required. A Master's Degree in Agronomy or equivalent is preferred.

  • Five (5) years of agronomy experience and proven abilities

  • Must be able to sell, negotiate, and influence

  • Strong agronomy and knowledge of crop production practices

  • Ability to pass a driving record background check
