Position Summary:
This position is a multi-skilled position in installation, maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the Physical Plant operations and grounds of the Wichita Work Release Facility. Through collaboration with the WCF/WWRF Physical Plant Supervisor Senior, the incumbent will ensure all maintenance operations are conducted in a professional manner, aligning the mission of the Wichita Work Release Facility and the Kansas Department of Corrections.
- Ensure facility building, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems are functioning well, utilizing preventative maintenance to avoid costly repairs.
- Oversee tool control
- Assist in preparation of facility operating budget
- Respond to staff work orders and general facility needs
- Procure materials and supplies for projects within applicable budget restraints
- Determine needs and plans for maintenance or repair projects
- Develop facility vehicle maintenance schedule; inspect and assist in maintaining cleanliness of vehicles
- Assure the continual and accurate control of caustic and hazardous materials
- Supervise and guide residents in maintaining building plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, and in minor vehicle maintenance/repair
- Maintain property inventory
- Schedule outside vendors for major and routine services
