Description
* JOB SUMMARY:*
The Handling Qualities and Control Law engineer will support the development of advanced aircraft concepts utilizing full fly-by-wire control systems. This position will leverage advanced flight control modeling, design, and system identification techniques. The work environment will utilize a fast-paced team that offers multi-disciplinary experience with hands on mentoring opportunities.
* JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*
Supports the development of advanced aircraft concepts through:
Analysis of control law inner and outer loop functions
Linear and non-linear analysis of integrated flight and propulsion control systems
6 degree of freedom simulation development
Integration of control law functions into flight software models with supporting requirements definition
Execute desktop testing of integrated flight and propulsion control software with 6 degree of freedom simulations
Aircraft & rotorcraft stability and control design and analysis
System identification of actuator and vehicle dynamics; verification of system stability margins both in simulation and flight test
Documentation of work in engineering memos and presentations to supervision
Qualifications
* EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:*
Bachelor’s degree required in:
Aerospace Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Other related field
Master’s degree in Engineering fields preferred
* QUALIFICATIONS:*
Must have the ability to prioritize a variety of assignments
Experience with Mathworks Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, specifically simulation development, control system analysis and scripting
