EHS Engineer- Group Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

Guide and instruct Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) engineers whom are involved in EHS programs, policies and procedures, while interacting with employees in multiple areas of manufacturing of Textron Aviation aircraft.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. Plans, organizes and schedules team activities and assignments

II. Coordinates teams’ activities with other groups/organizations/departments

III. Oversee assignments involving implementation of general safety and environmental policies and procedures to be followed in compliance with corporate policies and local, state, and federal EPA and OSHA rules and regulations

IV. Personally assists/executes in implementation efforts involving EH&S policies and procedures. and as difficult problems are encountered. Ensures timely and effective customer support to all Textron Aviation entities

V. Improves the effectiveness of the team by instructing, developing and creating the required environment for motivation, innovation and job development of employees, assess individual employee results in relation to job assignments and takes or recommends appropriate actions

VI. Performs necessary research to maintain and exercise a working knowledge of new environmental and safety processes

VII. Prepares periodic activity and status reports and performs special assignments as required VIII. Develops a collaborative environment for execution of safety kaizens, gemba walks, and safety improvement processes

IX. Development and execution of Textron Aviation Safety Management System

X. Assist with and performs incident investigations on injuries or illnesses and provide recommendations to prevent recurrences, using the root cause analysis method

XI. Be aware of basic Ergonomic principles and be willing to lead preliminary ergonomic Injury investigations and perform Ergonomic reviews by understanding the employee’s tasks and risks

XII. Provide positive coaching to employees including developing and conducting effective safety training XIII. Join in the development and compiling of training manuals and other training aids, and obtain equipment, training videos, and other materials for instructional purposes XIV. Perform other related duties as required by supervisor

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in:

  • Environmental Health and Safety

  • Health Services Management

  • Medical Administration

  • Other related fields

  • Minimum 4 years of relative experience required

  • Leadership experience is preferred
