The Independent Early Learning Center in Wichita, KS is a high-quality early childhood program that supports learning through play, developmentally appropriate practice, and loving environments. Staff will enjoy working with children ages 6 weeks to 6 years in a fun, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively monitor children and ensure the safety of each child in all areas (classroom, playground, and common areas).
  • Set up/break down of learning activities, potty training/diaper changing, meal times, and basic care.
  • Implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Document daily activities and observations of children.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development completing all child care licensing regulations for KDHE
  • Any other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • CPR and First Aid Certification or willing to obtain within first 90 days.
  • Must meet (or be able to meet within 30 days of hire) KDHE specific requirements for Health Assessment, TB test, and Health and Safety Training.
  • The ability to be courteous, professional, and confidential where appropriate.
  • Pass pre-employment screening and KDHE required background check.
  • Able to speak, read, and write English
  • Possess a love of children and motivation to make a difference in their lives.

Required Physical Qualifications

  • Must be able to use a computer with basic proficiency.
  • Lift a minimum of 30 pounds,
  • Be able to work indoors & outdoors during a variety of climates.
  • Be able to physically bend and sit on the floor, and move quickly to ensure children\'s safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year experience in a licensed facility teaching young children.
  • Degree in Early Childhood or related degree

License/Certification:

  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
