Renaissance Learning is seeking a Director to manage Renaissance’s Proposal Solutions team. This role will manage a team of high performing proposal professionals, and supervise / manage their development of compelling, high quality, and winning proposals. Essential Functions and Responsibiliites: + Effectively manage, guide, and direct Renaissance’s team of proposal professionals + Ensure proposal activities are aligned with company and sales objectives + Oversee the successful development of all proposal responses + Collaborate with sales, customer success teams to understand and set expectations + Develop good working relationships across Renaissance teams, ensuring strong stakeholder engagement with the proposal process + Ensure proposal processes are being followed, including championing the process with stakeholders + Ensure the bid/no bid process is being followed, enabling the business to prioritize and resource bids strategically + Establish processes to conduct win/loss reviews following decision outcomes, and work with the team to define process improvements + Lead process improvements within the Proposal and Sales teams, gathering feedback from stakeholders, internal team members, and win/loss analysis to drive continuous improvement + Design KPI’s for the Bid Management Team and ensure reporting is in place to track performance + Conduct regular appraisals with team members and ensuring performance objectives are met + Ensure the Proposal Solutions team is resourced to cover peaks in demand, annual leave, and other absences + Manage the Proposal Solutions team budget + Share Association of Bid and Proposal Management (APMP) best practices and provide process leadership to the team + Create an inspiring team environment with open communication; listen to team members’ feedback and foster a collaborative environment + Monitor team performance; motivate and mentor team members towards achieving goals + May be required to manage strategic, priority corporate bids or participate in reviews of critical proposals Required Education & Experience + Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university + Minimum 8 years of proven successful experience managing proposal teams and proven ability leading a team of seasoned proposal professionals + Significant experience with all aspects of proposal preparation, development, and production + Proficient in PC applications + Proficient in MS office applications including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams + Virtual meeting software familiarity + Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment + Ability to manage geographically disparate teams + Ability to manage and work with all levels or internal staff Preferred Experience & Qualifications + APMP certification preferred + PMI certification preferred + Experience with education or government proposals and processes preferred + Proven track record of leading the development of successful proposals + Self-directed, self-motivated and demonstrated experience providing ideas and solutions to further business understanding + Exemplifies initiative, intelligence, strong attention to detail and integrity in striving for continuous improvement + Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills Salary Range: $132,500 - $198,800 . This range is based on national market data and may vary by location.
