Definition and Examples of Work
- Manages designated team members to include directing work assignments, coaching and development, and decisions impacting employee status, including hiring, promotions, compensation adjustments, and terminations.
- Provides leadership to include coaching and counseling to maintenance superintendents and foremen, and IMC supervisors and leads.
- Reviews and approves purchases for designated departments in alignment with purchasing policies, procedures, and regulations; provides budgetary oversight and review.
- Manages fleet and contracts for the designated departments.
- Works closely with other departments to ensure equipment and facilities are maintained and in good working order.
- Prepares budget estimates of departmental project and staffing needs, prepares reports of operations, and maintains related records.
- Attends leadership team meeting, participating in organizational strategic planning.
- Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations as well as establish relationships with vendors and contractors.
- Additional duties may be assigned as business needs require.

This position works independently and as part of a team, including providing input and problem solving with others to complete tasks. The position delegates to others, provides coaching and training in a formal/informal manner, and is responsible for providing performance feedback. Makes decisions involving hiring, firing, promotion, and all other employee status changes. Negotiation and persuasion is used with internal/external customers and/or vendors. Decision making is typically done in independently in regard to decisions affecting the individual and department work tasks in alignment with company policy. Purchasing decisions may be made involving commitments up to \$25,000. Makes decisions involving write-off, waiver of charges, or contractual commitments. Leads short- and long-term departmental planning and participates in organizational planning. Successful completion of job tasks may significantly impact operating costs, monetary effect, internal system, processes and procedures, customer satisfaction, management decisions, external company image and liability.

- Primarily works in office environment while using computers and related peripherals and other office equipment.
- Occasionally works outdoors at maintenance work sites or construction projects in all types of weather conditions and may be exposed to high heat, extreme cold, high humidity, dust, moderate noise.
