Currently recruiting a Director of Plant Operations to work in Wichita, Kansas in a 760-bed hospital. The facility features a Level I trauma center and the only Level II pediatric trauma center in the state.
The hospital is well-known in Kansas and northern Oklahoma for its Children's Hospital, oncology specialists, emergency room, and more. The facility's Women's Hospital delivers about 6,000 babies per year, which is more than any other hospital in a 13-state region. Job Responsibilities of the Director of Plant Operations:
Under the general direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Plant Operations is accountable for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating activities relating to all facility engineering services and plant operations, remodeling and construction, maintenance, repair, upgrading, and functioning of the physical plant facilities of hospital and sister facility (interior, exterior and grounds) of the hospital and hospital-owned buildings in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, and established hospital policies and procedures.
The Director is responsible for preventative maintenance and coordination of unscheduled maintenance of all hospital and affiliated buildings and equipment, mechanical, electrical, dialysis, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
Job Qualifications of the Director of Plant Operations:
Bachelor's Degree, required.
Master's Degree in related field, required or enrolled in a master’s program within 6 months of hire.
Minimum of two years of experience as a manager or Director of Facilities within a large hospital, preferred.
Must be proficient in all subjects related to Facility Operations (e.g., engineering, maintenance, operating engineer, remodeling and construction, finance & management).
Extensive knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards and Li fe Safety Codes, NFPA, EPA, UBC, CMS, KDHE, city and state fire regulations.
Working knowledge of Kansas Healthcare Facility Regulations.
Computer literate: MS Office programs, Data Entry; Spreadsheets and ability to learn support software programs.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
Compensation of the Director of Plant Operations:
Salary Range: $48.28 - $72.43 depending on experience.
Matching 401(k) contributions ranging from 3-9%.
PTO starting at 4 weeks per year.
