Job Title: Administrative Aide II (Office of Community Services) - Evergreen

Location: Evergreen Recreation Center - 2700 N. Woodlawn - Wichita, KS 67204, Kansas
This is public contact and administrative support work which involves program administration for the Office of Community Services, including supporting community engagement, information and referrals and facility management.
Monday -Thursday 8:30am - 5:30pm Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm Must be willing and able to flex time and work occasional evenings and Saturdays
Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish effectively is required.
Examples of Work Performed:
+ Assists residents by phone, email, and walk-in with referrals to appropriate services within the community.
+ Monitors and assists residents in accessing information from the on-site computer lab, which could include assistance with setting up email accounts or other basic computer needs.
+ Maintains program or project information data base or files.
+ Organize and/or provide support for special events.
+ Provides support clerical services to Community Services Representative.
+ Composes responses to routine correspondence.
+ Monitors and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
+ Prepares monthly report for grant reporting.
+ Orders office supplies and manage the supplies inventory.
+ Completion of work assignments may require the operation of a vehicle.

Requirements of Work:
+ Excellent customer service skills and the desire to serve citizens.
+ Knowledge of computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
+ Knowledge of community resources and social services.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with citizens and communicate issues and concerns to Community Service Representatives and other City staff as appropriate.
+ Ability to effectively manage a Neighborhood Resource Center.
+ Ability to use a computer to access, interpret, and record information.
+ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
+ Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations and the public.
+ May require ability to acquire and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license.
+ An employee shall not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Required Experience and Training: Two years (60 hours) of college plus two years of administrative experience or experience in a responsible clerical or secretarial position. An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered. Offers of employment are contingent upon passing a pre-employment physical, which includes drug screening, and upon satisfactory evaluation of the results of a criminal record check.
