The Global global Technical Services Center of Excellence (TS CoE) is part of VMware’s WW Readiness and Accreditation Customer Certification & Education Enablement (WWRACE) organization. The TS CoE team consults and prescribes technical enablement pre-sales and post-sales technical enablement for our global pre-sales and post-sales Technical Services teams. This which includes managing enablement content and assets, maintaining accreditation and other solutions training programs, creating learning paths and other enablement designed to educate internal and partner individuals. The TS CoE also provides enablement to help them to successfully position, sell business value and provide technical guidance around VMware products and solutions. The goal of the TS CoE team is to simplify learning, making it easy for VMware technical teams and partners technical teams to obtain the knowledge and skills they need to be more successful in selling and implementing VMware solutions.

We have a need for aWe are seeking a highly motivated leader to join our team as the Director, Americas Technical Enablement supporting our AMER Solutions Engineer and Professional services teams.

The primary objective of this position is to lead the development of enablement strategies and programs that align Technical Field facing Solutions Engineers, PS Delivery Consultants, Project Managers and Services sales professional readiness by aligning enablement programs and initiatives to the strategic priorities of those organizations.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • Establishing and maintaining senior stakeholder relationships and establishing yourself as a key business partner of the PS and SE Senior Leadership Teams.

  • Innovating, designing and executing on programs that enable our technical field facing team. These would be programs such as Role Based Competency frameworks, Quarterly Training Plans, Technical and professional skill workshops, and events such as WWKO/TechSummit.

  • Lead and develop the AMER Technical Enablement team in the flawless execution of enablement programs and initiatives.

  • Collaborating with other WWRACE teams to represent the unique needs of the Technical Services community and influence enablement content, program and process improvements that serve all our stakeholders at VMware.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Working closely with other Technical Services CoE enablement teams (i.e. APJ, EMEA Technical Enablement as well as CS and GS) to leverage programs and initiatives related to enablement.

  • Understanding overall execution strategies and priorities for both SE and PS organization by regularly meeting with leaders of the different functions/roles and clearly understanding how the organizational priorities/needs can be complemented by enablement programs, content and/or events.

  • Developing work plans for your team of technical enablement managers/consultants.

  • Identifying opportunities where collaboration with other organizations such as Sales, Customer Success, Partner, Business Units and/or Global Support may have a positive impact on overall readiness.

  • Building relationships with other roles within WWRACE that may result in overall execution improvement of enablement programs.

You will be an integral part of several leadership teams within WWRACE as well as our stakeholders. Your understanding of how our technical field facing roles operate is key to our success and the success of our stakeholders.

Where is this role located?

Remote: This role is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable. You will be expected to live within 0-4 time zones of the primary location.
