Ascension Health Dietitian - Diabetes Educator in Wichita, Kansas

What You Will Do

Educate patients, healthcare workers and the community about controlling diabetes through nutritional management.

  • Coordinate with designated staff to effectively integrate medical nutrition therapy into the overall management of diabetes.

  • Provide diabetes education for patients, healthcare workers and the community.

  • Encourage the diabetes team to support and reinforce nutrition prescriptions and to help patients manage their meal plans.

  • Supervise the planned education process for the goals of medical nutrition therapy for diabetes. Reinforce diabetes education and instruction to the staff and implements and monitors educational plan of care.

  • Coordinate with healthcare providers including receiving and writing orders to ensure effective and efficient patient care and achievement of desired patient outcomes.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Kansas Adult Care Home Administrators, Audiologists, Dietitians and Speech-Language Pathologists obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

  • Educator specializing in Diabetes Management preferred.

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
