PDS Tech Inc Design Engineer in Wichita, Kansas

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer in Wichita, KS.


  • The Design Engineer will develop, plan, organize and conduct complex design assignments on Aviation aircraft.

  • Candidate will operate in one or more functional disciplines within engineering.


  • Perform duties in support of new product and sustaining designs

  • Coordinate with other Engineering and technical groups to develop, implement, monitor, and status assignments

  • Responsible for completing development, design, testing and certification assignments for new design or modifications. Develops creative, scientific alternatives during course of job assignments to reach desired outcome.

  • Initiate designs or incorporate design improvements utilizing CATIA V5 software with an emphasis on modeling and drafting

  • 3D model development in support of detail, assembly and installation layouts

  • Peer drawing checking and the release of engineering documents, as well as day-to-day collaboration to resolve design conflicts and obsolescence issues.

  • Consults and coordinates with other engineering and manufacturing personnel to coordinate design function and resolve technical problems. Consults with supplier to discuss and remedy issues in a more timely and efficient manner.

  • Requests and coordinates work performed by Engineering support groups, Experimental, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management for the project

  • Maintains contact with Product Support Engineering and production departments to resolve engineering problems impeding customer requirements and to assist in the incorporation of new design changes.

  • Ability to read and produce 2D drawings using standard industry practices

  • Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office programs

  • Experience in CATIA V5

  • Minimum of 10 years engineering experience or relative aviation technical experience.

Bachelor’s Degree in:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Aerospace Engineering

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Other related field
