Delivery Drivers support procurement doing packaging, delivery and pickup of parts from outside processing suppliers, along with computer work to assist the department as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Delivers and picks up from local suppliers in company vehicle. Will palletize parts according to suppliers and will verify deliveries are made promptly and in correct locations. Verifies and returns signed copies of POD forms after each delivery. Compares identifying information between purchase orders and parts to assure they are matched correctly.
  • Assist with unloading of incoming/outgoing suppliers trucks via forklift/pallet jack. Assist with movement of parts/pallets in the facility.
  • Will assist with computer input of part status updates as required, filing as needed..
  • Maintain the work area/equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • One year of relevant experience, preferred.
  • Forklift Certification and/or the ability to obtain a forklift certification.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • CDL license a plus but not required
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, preferred.

  • Ability to operate or to become licensed to operate a forklift
  • Ability to work with computer programs

Physical Demands:

  • Required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, climb, reach and move about the facility
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Physical Demands and Work Environment

To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Majority of work performed in transit, potential for exposure to external elements.
  • Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, stand for long periods to perform job duties
  • Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 100 pounds using peer assistance and/or other lifting & material-handling equipment
  • Occasionally reaches overhead and reaches out or down to perform duties
  • Frequently climb steps, stairs, or ladders
  • Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
  • Frequently uses hand or fingers to manually inspect parts, tighten hardware & fixtures, and operate machine and material handling controls
  • Accurately distinguish colors to respond to sensors, indicators, and color-variable dashboards
  • Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices

?Working Conditions

Work is performed is in transit in a company vehicle. Some work may be performed in a manufacturing shop environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:

  • External elements, traffic, inclement weather, and other associated elements while operating a vehicle
  • Excessive noise (hearing protection required)
  • Dust, smoke, mist, fumes/vapors (regularly)
  • Extreme temperatures (occasionally)
  • Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment (continually)
