Responsibilities

Location: Wichita, KS

Key Accountabilities

  • Provides technical writing to support the proposal effort that reflect win themes and technical capabilities

  • Prepare text and specifies illustrations for the proposal

  • Responsible for incorporating proposal strategies and themes/discriminators into the customer proposal

  • Take guidance from proposal manager and capture manager on proposal development

  • Ability to collaborate with solutions architects to draft language that answers the proposal questions

  • Organization and management of technical writing to assist in the management of the proposal process

  • Implements proposal processes and planning. Supporting proposal schedules, plans, deadlines, and progress monitoring.

  • Support, participate, and respond to reviews ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance of the proposal with solicitation requirements

  • Experience in Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel and Power Point is required

Qualifications

Major responsibilities

  • Ability to develop proposals within a matrix organization: supporting the proposal development process end-to-end in accordance with Spirit standard processes and templates. Attention to detail is essential for the success of this role.

  • Ability to project manage proposal development to ensure submittal of data to meet customer requirements & schedule: collaboration with the Program Manager to assign specific authors, manage the schedule, and provide insight and guidance to authors in content and graphics developments.

  • Development of a narrative for competitive proposals with clear, persuasive, and responsive content that addresses the customer’s requirements and issues consistent with the win strategy.

  • Accountability for the overall narrative while working with proposal manager and solutions architect to meet schedule and stay on budget consistent with Spirit Aerosystems Defense Program management standards of excellence.

  • Direct writing, editing, and rewriting efforts to achieve a persuasive, customer focused, clear, and concise proposal. Work with the section/volume leads to achieve inter-volume compatibility.

    Requirements

  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

  • 4-6 years of related experience plus a Bachelor’s degree or 8-10 years of related experience with no degree

  • Experience with Proposal Management, Technical Writing and New Business Development

  • Experience operating in a matrix organization

  • Experience with Integrated Program Planning and Scheduling, Cross-functional project management

  • Experience working & negotiating with cross-functional teams

  • Strong written & oral communication skills

  • Experience or knowledge in the following areas: Project Management, Financial Acumen, Business Acumen, Managing with Influence, Interpersonal relationships and communication, Team building, Continuous improvement

    Preferred Qualifications

  • An active U.S. Security Clearance is preferred but not required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Organizational Development, Project Management preferred
