Spirit AeroSystems Defense - Government Compliance Analyst - Disclosure Statement 4 in Wichita, Kansas

Overview

Location: Wichita, KS (Onsite)

Summary:

The Government Compliance Analyst – Disclosure Statement 4 is part of an established cohesive team responsible for evaluating internal operational and procedural compliance in accordance with applicable U.S Government regulations, analysis of current and proposed accounting practices for submission to the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO), and supporting Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) audits performed by the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) .

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Monitor Spirit for financial compliance with the U.S. Government rules and regulations.

  • Regularly reviews operations to ensure accounting complies with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and supplements and the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)

  • Identify weaknesses and recommend solutions to mitigate issues and strengthen processes or adherence to the processes as they relate to the accounting and associated systems 

  • Remain current on applicable U.S. Government regulations, industry best practices, newsletters, media, and information that support compliance standards

  • Document changes to accounting practices and impacts to Disclosure Statement

  • Identify and lead CAS violation remediation or inconsistencies in disclosed practices

  • Lead DCAA CAS compliance audits, address any audit findings and lead required accounting changes process

  • Execute a comprehensive Government Compliance program which includes coaching, formal training, newsletters, and various forms of communication to build, maintain, and improve U.S. Government compliance capability and control

  • Respectfully challenge any inconsistencies to ensure full compliance, and aggressively address issues

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years' related work experience, a Master’s Degree and 4+ years' related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret DoD Clearance

  • Strong communication, writing, and computer skills

  • Must possess significant Excel skills

  • Ability to quickly decompose and analyze data

  • Must be detail oriented

    Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to understand and apply U.S. Government regulations and ensure strict adherence to FAR and CAS requirements

  • Ability to work with functional and program teams to abide by and follow relevant policies, procedures, and desktop instructions

  • Knowledge of SAP

  • Ability to identify and remedy inconsistencies in accounting

  • Ability to educate others on process controls and U.S. Government Compliance requirements

  • Ability to work with U.S Government auditors in a collaborative and transparent manner.
