Pay: $47,294.00 annually Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm This is a temporary position in the Sedgwick County Health Department (SCHD) for COVID-19 response. The position reviews and writes COVID-19 data reports; coordinates, researches and analyzes data; coordinates COVID-19 Data Branch staff and projects to ensure timely and accurate completion; and prepares information for communication to internal Health Department staff, County Leadership, external health partners, and the public. Consultation and collaboration with Health Department staff is required.Review, develop, and write COVID-19 related data reportsCritically review COVID-19 related data reports developed by SCHD Data Branch team to ensure accuracy and thoroughnessPrepare written reports for Sedgwick County website updates and for Sedgwick County Communications to distributeCreate and communicate written and verbal messages about the data to SCHD staff, medical professionals, community partners, County Leadership, and the public.Work with Communications and COVID-19 internal and external partners to communicate data.Coordinate, research, and analyze internal and external COVID-19 dataPerform independent advanced data analysis using statistical softwareIndependently research and identify methods and data analysis proceduresIdentify processes for data cleaning and perform advanced data cleaningCreate surveys and collect dataDevelop website content for the public using software applications, including ArcGIS, to produce maps and StoryMapsCreate written reports using research on best practices for all Health Department COVID-19 activitiesProvides data analysis subject matter expertiseCoordinate Data Branch staff and projectsServe as Team Leader of SCHD COVID-19 Data BranchDelegate and coordinate COVID-19 data projects and reports with Data Branch staff, ensuring projects are completed accurately and in a timely mannerCoordinate Data Branch team meetings, project deadlines, and other key activitiesCreate and utilize project management tools for staffPerform staff audits and evaluationsServe as back-up to staff who maintain COVID-19 data dashboard, recovery metrics, and other standard COVID-19 data reportsAssume role of COVID-19 Data Branch Director when neededMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, data analytics, information technology, or related field with data analysis coursework. Three years of experience in data analytics, data analysis, management, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies. Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and computer skills are required.Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, data analytics, information technology, or related field with data analysis and data management coursework. Coursework in epidemiology. One year of work experience in a public health department or healthcare setting. Two years of work experience with data management and data analysis; experience with SAS, SPSS or other database software. One year of experience with Esri ArcGIS mapping software.
