Let’s talk about this option because we are growing non-stop & need get those reports out letting the community & world know how awesome we are doing & how we continue to improve!!Job Summary:The Data Analyst & Report Developer is responsible for developing queries, reports, processes, and fundamental data streams which are critical to the college’s ability to meet its internal and external reporting needs. Duties include working with the Executive Director, Institutional Effectiveness and IT to identify needs and possibilities for reporting infrastructure improvements and optimization. Independent writing and validation of SQL queries in Oracle, creating/updating tables in Microsoft SQL Server, and creating/updating reports in IBM Cognos Analytics will be primary duties for the position.This position is responsible for producing high-quality reports and data extracts that will be used to guide institutional decision-making as it pertains to strategic indicators, academic programs, accreditation, enrollment management, and overall student success. Audits of the data used for reporting, recurring reports that track student- and program-level outcomes, output files that provide the data mandated for reporting by the state and federal government, and any ad-hoc or additional requests received by the department are examples of this work.Quick Glance of Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Builds efficient queries, data extracts, and reports utilizing a combination of PL/SQL Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL, and IBM Cognos Analytics.
+ Develops reporting architecture by creating database tables and views that can optimize reporting. Coordinates with IT staff as needed.
+ Maintains expertise in reporting infrastructure for the college, understanding the relationships among various databases, tables, and key reporting elements.
+ Processes ad hoc requests and works with data requestors to clarify needs to provide appropriate reports.
+ Develops and maintains documentation regarding key reporting processes.
+ Ensures the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all requested data.
+ Ensures confidentiality and compliance with college policies and procedures; county, state, and federal regulations; and accreditation requirements as related to institutional effectiveness, research, and planning.
+ Assists on and coordinates projects and special assignments as assigned by the Executive Director, Institutional Effectiveness.
Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills Needed:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related disciple OR equivalent combination of education and experience required.
+ Minimum of one year of experience querying data with SQL using relational databases required. Must have the ability to write complex SQL statements utilizing sub-queries and joins of multiple tables and independently validate results.
+ Minimum of one year of experience writing reports in an enterprise-level reporting environment with a fundamental knowledge of data structure and relationships between database tables and columns required. Knowledge of Ellucian Banner and the Ellucian Banner Operational Data Store preferred.
+ Minimum of one year of experience with Microsoft Office including an intermediate-level knowledge of reviewing data reports in Excel required (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups, data filters).
+ Knowledge of IBM Cognos Analytics and Microsoft Power BI preferred.
+ Experience working with student-level data in an institution of higher education preferred.
+ Experience working with cloud databases and/or ETL processes preferred.
+ Experience programming in R or Python preferred.
+ Strong desire to address challenging situations and recommend novel solutions to problems.
+ Must have the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. Must have the ability to prioritize multiple complex projects meeting all deadlines with quality being the priority.
Pay Rate: $52,500 /yrSchedule: M-F, 8a-5p; NCAT (hybrid remote position)
