Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. Curriculum Development Specialist in Wichita, Kansas

Job Descriptions:

Perform computer-based curriculum development responsibilities including developing, updating and maintaining the delivered simulation/virtual based KC-46 Maintenance Training System (MTS) Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI), electronic media and supporting documentation. This includes simulation/virtual based lessons augmenting large scale maintenance training devices.

Perform KC-46 MTS support requirements using Air Force Handbook (AFH) 36-2235 Volume 3 as a performance guide.

Asist Senior Instructional System Designer (ISD) with analyses to ensure identification and validation of training requirements, documents result of analyses, and ensures recommended alternative training strategies are feasible for presentation to decision-makers.

Asist ISD with training planning data to include: resource requirements (manpower, personnel, and training); follow on training recommendations including justification and impact; the training considerations that form the basis for functional characteristics of the instructional delivery system; and functional characteristics requirements.

Provides analyses to ensure identification and validation of training requirements, documents results of analyses, and ensures recommended alternative training strategies are feasible for presentation to decision-makers.

Reviews documentation of design strategy documents to ensure courseware development is aligned to customer requirements and Statement of Work (SOW).

Represent the company with customers as the subject matter expert of curriculum development as it is demonstrated, reviewed, or tested.

Participate in required meetings, reviews and conferences in support of curriculum upgrades/development and Training Support Service Center (TSSC) operations

Required Experience:

Required education

  • BA/BS in the field of instructional design or a related degree OR

  • Direct KC-46 technical/instructional development experience

Required experience

  • Our ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of military related experience providing the required engineering/technical services

Required skills

  • Experience researching technical material and working flexibly with subject matter experts

  • Excellent writing, communication, analytical and instructional design skills

  • Experience working in a focused, dynamic, fast-paced team environment with accountable deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred skills

  • Air Force experience - technical and operational experience with USAF fixed-wing tanker aircraft
