The COVID Nurse Manager provides dynamic leadership and oversight to nurse, medical assistant and medical intake staff, who are supporting Hunter’s critical role in response to COVID-19. The Manager supports excellence in quality care through the day-to-day management of efficient and effective nursing operations and monitoring of quality assurance. The Manager also ensures continuous quality improvement by developing systems to achieve excellence in clinical quality and patient care. The Manager collaborates across Hunter departments to improve organizational results. This position is a seasonal (temporary) position to accommodate the additional workload due to COVID vaccine administration.


Responsibilities


+ Hire, supervise, and train all Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Medical Assistants (MA) and Medical Intake Reception (MIR) staff who are working on the COVID-19 vaccination campaign.


+ Coach and provide feedback, performance management, and evaluations of all staff under supervision.


+ Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Operations to develop and manage all procedures and workflow to be consistent with organization’s objectives, protocols, regulations, and standards, and that operations conform to established environmental, safety, and infection control requirements.


+ Collaborate with clinical operations leadership, staff, and providers to ensure that the clinical practice is running according to the organization’s business plan, working towards achievement of organizational goals, and adhering to evidence-based best practices.


+ Analyze and determine appropriate staff mix, scheduling, and work direction to support patient needs and financial viability.


+ Implement systems improvements to increase efficiency in operations and patient experience, e.g. improve vaccination administration processes.


+ Coordinate the day-to-day execution of practices that increase productivity and efficiency.


+ Ensure excellence in patient care, monitor patient service feedback, and contribute to the process of resolving complaints and service issues.


+ Collaborate with the Director of Primary Care, Director of Integrated Care, OB Clinic Manager, Dental Clinic Manager, and Lab/Radiology Manager to ensure quality health care is given to each patient.


+ Respond to clinical and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.


+ Ensure compliance with all OSHA, HRSA, IHS, and Hunter Health Clinic policies and procedures.


+ Manage medical supplies and inventory. Procure medical equipment for the organization.


+ Supervise students or volunteers, as needed.


+ Lead team meetings and participate in monthly clinical operational meetings.


+ Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of instruments.


+ Maintain the acceptable standard of client confidentiality according to law and professional office standards.


+ Maintain referral relationships with Hunter staff for follow-up on medical assistance.


+ Implement and maintain a budget.


+ Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


+ Graduate of an accredited nursing school required.


+ Kansas Registered Nurse license required.


+ Current CPR/BLS required.


+ Primary Care Office Manager Experience preferred.


+ 1 year of experience in supervising staff required.


+ Five (5) years’ experience working in an outpatient clinic setting preferred.


+ Valid driver’s license
