Job Summary: Performs various tasks involving significant contact with INTRUST customers over the phone for recovering funds due the bank. Customer contact is varied and in-depth. Customer inquiries are seldom routine and involve extended contact with the customer in order to facilitate a satisfactory resolution. Position requires independent decision making with the ability to negotiate payment terms and methods. Promotes and fosters teamwork across all areas of INTRUST and is focused on delivering a high level of customer service to all. Must maintain strict standard of confidentiality, and perform duties in a manner supporting INTRUST’s Character Qualities.

Essential Functions:

  • Actively works collection queue on delinquent and impaired accounts to achieve performance standards and reduce losses to the bank.

  • Requires thorough knowledge of departmental policies, procedures and regulations as it pertains to the collection industry.

  • Must possess product knowledge of all consumer-lending products.

  • Ability to be polite and compassionate without lacking confidence

  • Performs collections and skip tracing to recover funds utilizing an automated dialer as well as effectively working assigned queues manually.

  • Complies with all federal, state, and organizational policies, procedures, and processes, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Federal Debt Collection Practices (FDCP), Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA) and Unfair Deceptive or Abusive Acts and Practices (UDAAP) procedures

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of collections or customer service experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge: Excellent communication and people skills. Must have the expertise and skills to handle a wide range of account scenarios. Typing and keyboard skills required. Effective verbal and written communication. Must be able to work shifts; days, evenings and weekends. Excellent technical skills with the ability to multi-task between computer screens, systems and phones.

Required Licenses and/or Certifications: None.

Physical Demands: Sedentary position. Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Must be able to view personal computer for extended periods of time. May occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to hear and speak clearly both face-to-face and over the phone. Must be able to use hands to key information and handle objects.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
